The Dolphins Basketball club became a member of the Geelong Basketball Association (GABA) in 1996, when some parents and their children established the first Dolphins team in the 12 & under boys competition. The 'youngest' member of the GABA, the club has grown from there and in 2006 had 175 players (128 families), making up 23 teams playing in the following competitions: Boys and Girls 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under, 16 & under as well as 18 & under boys, Division 2 Women, Division 3 Men and A Reserve Men.
The club has participated in the annual Warrnambool Tournament since 1999 and have had much success. In 2005 we entered 3 boys and two girls teams and won 3 championships (Under 12 girls, Under 12 and under 14 boys).
Dolphins players have been selected in the Geelong Rep Programme since 1999.
Annually, the club runs a Junior Basketball Clinic on Saturday mornings for 8 consecutive weeks. Our emphasis is for the children to learn the basics of basketball and have FUN doing it.
